Progetto MASP, incontro online:Study visit in Oslo

Study visit in Oslo, The Norwegian welfare model: the impact of Covid-19 on work-life balance

The partners of MASP will again meet for a study visit in Oslo, to learn more about the Norwegian welfare model and how that relates to the work-life balance in the society. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the study visit will be digital. While this prevents the partners to meet and discuss the topic in person and visit the beautiful city in its autumn colours, it also opens up for new possibilities. One of these is that our visit will be live streamed on our Facebook-page, which will give a much wider audience the possibility to listen and learn about the situation in Norway.

EUROMASC, the partner responsible for the study visit, has decided to focus the study visit on the impact the pandemic has had on Norwegian work-life balance. The study visit will be divided into two digital meetings, with the first coming up now October 15th. The second will be held at the end of the month.

The first speaker on the 15th is a representative from the Norwegian Red Cross, Håvard Ellingsen. He is the leader of a youth centre in Oslo, where they provide a range of activities, including homework assistance. This is an important job that relives some of the pressure of the parents, while ensuring that the children get a quiet place to work. This activity is free, and runs on local volunteers.

The second speaker is a political advisor for the main party in the Norwegian government, Høyre. Gaute Kandal Hoel has been working as an advisor for Høyres parliamentary group for some years, and has been writing the new party programme this year. He has therefore extensive knowledge of the governments Covid response, their family and welfare policies, and their political plans in the future.
The last speaker will be held by EUROMASC, and will be more broadly on the Norwegian welfare model, with focus on how work-life balance relates to childcare, kindergarten, and elder care.

All of these interventions will be live streamed on MASPs Facebook page and will be in English with no translation in Italian: www.facebook.com/MASPMasterParentingInWorkandLife
